Coolant Purge

Coolant Purge

Coolant will not only help maintain an ambient temperature in a vehicle’s engine and prevent it from overheating, it will also protect it from freezing. It is also known to protect the cooling system from corrosion. Antifreeze also lubricates moving parts and protects metal or rubber parts. It is therefore important to drain the coolant to remove air from the system.

COOLANT: ESSENTIAL FOR A CAR ENGINE

First of all, it is important to know that coolant is really essential to a vehicle’s engine. Why is that? Because it’s the coolant that, as it circulates through the cooling system, helps maintain a constant temperature in the engine. Of course, the coolant must be replaced when the engine is worn out. It is therefore normal for the engine to be changed every 50,000 km or every 2 or 4 years depending on the manufacturer.

The question arises, however, as to how this coolant is drained off. You can do it yourself or simply use a coolant drain, bleed and change machine like Flash Cooling®. This is the kind of machine that not only drains the coolant system, but also checks for leaks.

THE COOLANT DRAIN OPERATION

During the operation, an emptying machine will create a vacuum in the cooling circuit. It will then fill it by a simple vacuum. Speaking of this replacement operation, motorists can be reassured, the use of the machine is simple. Just connect the machine directly to the expansion tank and the draining starts. This operation is not only simple but also fast. In fact, no more waiting for the machine to drain for several hours, it only takes about ten minutes for the operation to be completed.

A draining is done after passing a coolant check. The test shows whether the coolant protection level is still optimal. A decrease in the properties of the coolant can have many consequences, including reduced engine performance or corrosion of the parts that make up the cooling system.
