Coolant level
Coolant level
The engine of a vehicle needs coolant to maintain a good operating temperature. So it’s fair to say that coolant plays a critical role in engine longevity. Therefore, it is necessary to take measures to control the level of this coolant.
FLUID CHECK
It is important to know that there are many points that need to be checked to take care of a vehicle’s engine. One of these points is the coolant level, which must be checked at least once every three months.
Above all, the latter must not fall below the level that is required in this respect. The same applies to the antifreeze quality and corrosion inhibitors of the coolant. It is necessary to check this as often as possible. Why do a check-up? Quite simply because the three points mentioned above deteriorate with the passage of time.
To check the properties of the liquid, a pH test can be used. To check the freezing point of the liquid, an antifreeze scale can be used.
BLEED THE COOLANT
It is advisable to check the coolant level regularly. When replacing the coolant, it should be done every 50,000 kilometres or every 2 or 4 years according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
With regard to purging or draining the cooling system completely, this must be done carefully. Of course, the maintenance instructions in the user manual must be followed. Draining is usually done for several hours, but it can be done in about ten minutes with the help of a machine such as Flash Cooling®.
This type of station does not require any dismantling on the vehicle, and is compatible on all petrol, diesel electric and hybrid vehicles.
