Coolant maintenance…

Coolant is an essential element in the proper functioning of an engine, especially when the engine is at a standstill or during strong accelerations.

Its role is to maintain the engine temperature at an acceptable level to avoid engine overheating. It is therefore essential for maintaining engine reliability and longevity. It is imperative to check the level regularly and replace it every 2 to 4 years according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Why replace the coolant?

Replacing and draining the coolant is an essential step to prevent overheating and engine breakage. This is because the engine creates a very high operating temperature. Without the coolant, the temperature would continue to rise by several tens of degrees, until it causes irreparable material breakage, bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. That’s why the coolant is essential to the durability, proper operation and cooling of the engine.

Over time, however, the coolant loses its properties and cools the engine less and less, which can lead to long-term damage. That’s why it’s important to regularly check the level and quality of the coolant, and to replace and drain it to maintain a properly functioning cooling system.

How do I replace the coolant?

With the Flash Cooling® station, draining, purging and replacing the coolant in any vehicle can be done in minutes.

In fact, after connecting directly to the expansion tank of a vehicle, the Flash Cooling® draining device will create a vacuum in the cooling circuit and allow the existing liquid to be drained and purged. Once the vacuum has been completely created, it will fill the circuit with new liquid, which can be done in just a few minutes.

This type of machine is ideal for replacing the coolant or for draining the circuit for a mechanical operation impacting an engine part in contact with the cooling.
